The Center City Concourse is a sprawling underground network of walkways that connect SEPTA's subway stations, regional rail stations, PATCO, office buildings, and even a mall. In fact, it is possible to walk from 19th Street to 8th Street, Spruce to Arch completely underground.
But how many people know how to fully take advantage of this underappreciated urban gem? With hidden entrances, extremely varied signage and wayfinding, and few good maps, it's not easy.
If you've never explored the Concourse, this walk will (try) to cover it end-to-end. If you're a Concourse veteran, let's talk about how we could better promote and utilize the Concourse.
